A Brazilian butt lift is done in two steps: liposuction and fat grafting. The procedure takes 2-3 hours. The first thing that will happen is skin cleansing. We will ensure the area is clean, and then the area will be marked with a marker to help guide Dr. G. Next, you’ll receive either anesthesia or IV sedation with local anesthesia. Dr. G will carefully create small incisions in the area where fat will be removed.
(This is usually the stomach, flanks, or thighs, but will depend on each patient.) Using the incisions Dr. G made, a specialized cannula will enter the skin and break up the fat, as well as suction it out of the body. This fat will then be processed and purified, and either placed within syringes or a specialized canister for transfer back to the body.
Once the purified fat is in the syringe or canister, it can be injected into the buttocks to add volume where desired. The fat also includes stems cells which will help improve skin thickness and texture on your buttocks. Dr. G will then close the incisions, and you will be fitted with a compression garment to help with healing.
