Fat transfer may be used alone or in combination with breast implants—often called “composite” or “hybrid” breast augmentation—to enhance the volume and shape of the breasts. Combining fat transfer (where fat is “borrowed” from another part of the body) with breast implants allows Dr. G to fine-tune results for a smoother, more attractive contour.
Can I have fat transfer breast augmentation without implants?
Yes. If you would prefer to avoid the use of implants altogether and achieve a more modest increase in the size of your breasts, fat transfer breast augmentation without implants is an option. Dr. G can discuss this with you during a consultation.
Where can the fat be taken from?
The fat can be harvested from a few different areas including the abdomen, flanks, and thighs.
How long does the procedure take?
The amount of time will vary, but on average the procedure is between three and five hours. This includes time for harvesting the fat, the purification process, and the trasnfer.
