Rhinoplasty can help refine and shape the nose to bring balance to your facial features. This surgery can be reformed to make cosmetic changes to your nose or help correct certain nasal issues.
In some patients it is necessary to add tissue in order to improve contour. Newer open techniques of nasal sculpturing permit better visualization and correction of nasal deformities.
Benefits of Rhinoplasty
Sometimes to correct breathing problems, others purely for aesthetic purposes, nose surgery is one of the most satisfying facial plastic surgery procedures available. For patients with a weak chin, Rhinoplasty can be combined with a chin augmentation to achieve dramatic results.
By achieving a better balance between nasal contour and the face, nasal refinement can improve your appearance and increase your self-confidence.
How Rhinoplasty Is Performed
Your procedure will begin with the administration of anesthesia. This will help make your surgical procedure more comfortable. After this, an incision is placed either inside the nose or near the nostrils. Dr. G will then be able to reshape and contour your nose through these incisions. After your procedure, you will be able to recover at home.
A splint or packing may be placed inside your nose as you begin your recovery. You may also have bandages on the outside of the nose. During the recovery period, you may experience some swelling and bruising in the area, which will ease over time. As you begin to heal, you will have follow-up appointments with Dr. G so he can assess the progress and remove the splint if needed.
