Restylane for Rejuvenation

When injected, Restylane’s hyaluronic acid works to make the treated area plumper, more hydrated, and more youthful. This versatile family of fillers has something for everyone, no matter what your areas of concern may be.

What Restylane Can Do

  • Reduces the appearance of facial lines, wrinkles, and folds (Restylane, Restylane-L, Lyft, Refyne, Defyne)
  • Enhances the lips (Restylane, Restylane-L, Silk, Kysse)
  • Smooths out fine lines around the mouth (Restylane Silk)
  • Provides lift and volume to the cheeks (Lyft, Restylane-L)
  • Adds volume to backs of the hands (Lyft)
  • Reduces the appearance of smile lines (Refyne, Defyne)
  • Restores volume to sunken/hollow areas (Lyft)
General background

How Does Restylane Work?

When a Restylane product is injected, its own hyaluronic acid is introduced to the underlying tissues and combines with the body’s natural hyaluronic acid, binding to water. This fills the areas underneath the skin in order to provide needed volume and conceal wrinkles.

Restylane has been developed with a formula that includes tiny granules of hyaluronic acid. This texture not only provides a smooth appearance; it also delivers longer-lasting results (up to 18 months).

Customized Treatments

Restylane products come in different particle sizes and range from very small to large. Because of this, Dr. G can select the ideal Restylane product to match your personal cosmetic concerns. As you can see above, some Restylane products are better for certain areas than others. No matter what your problem areas may be, the correct Restylane product will be chosen to address them in the most effective and natural-looking way.

Treatments Details

Before your Restylane treatment, your skin will be cleansed and if needed, a topical numbing anesthetic will be used. Dr. G will use a fine needle or a cannula to administer the pre-chosen Restylane product just beneath your skin. Once he has finished the injections, he may massage the area to ensure proper spreading of the product. A typical Restylane session takes approximately 15 minutes.

Downtime and Results

As with most dermal fillers, Restylane requires minimal downtime. Most patients go back to their normal day after treatment. The most common side effects are redness, swelling, and bruising at the injection sites. Some patients also experience a “full” feeling within the skin, but this is temporary. Exercise, anything that makes you sweat, and sun exposure should be avoided for 1-2 days.
