Customized Cosmetic Injection Revision

Dr. G performs cosmetic injection revision on a case-by-case basis. Unfortunately, there are many patients who receive “bad” filler or simply wish they could go back to the way they looked before injections. Because each case is different and has unique circumstances, Dr. G will closely evaluate your situation in order to formulate the right revision plan for you.

General background

Why Dr. G is the Best Choice for Cosmetic Injection Correction

In order to understand how to remove cosmetic injectables, one must first understand how they work. Dr. G is a board-certified plastic surgeon who has studied anatomy, has extensive experience with injectables, and attended medical school.

He is a registered ExpertInjector™, a Key Opinion Leader for dermal filler vendors, and a faculty member of PALETTE®—a national workshop faculty that teaches advanced injection techniques to other surgeons and medical professionals. In addition, he regularly teaches filler techniques to nurses to ensure that they inject safely and properly.

All of this ensures that Dr. G knows exactly how to inject dermal fillers, neurotoxins, and fat. Along with being an expert in injecting, he is also an expert at cosmetic injection correction.

Right off the bat, already on the first appointment, I fell in Love with Dr. G and his right arm, Eva Tutic. They took their time explaining every single detail related to my procedures. There was never a question that they didn’t have a perfect answer for. I left the office feeling like I had found the right doctor right away, but I still decided to consult other doctors just to make sure I wasn’t being impulsive. I went to three other doctors before deciding to go with Dr. G. The other doctors did not give half of the confidence I felt towards Dr. G and his staff so I decided to choose him, and I couldn’t be any happier with my choice and with the results.

How Cosmetic Injection Correction is Done

There is no standard answer or technique for cosmetic injection correction. As mentioned above, Dr. G takes a highly personalized approach to each unique patient and their situation.

Sometimes cosmetic injection revision can be accomplished by simple dermal filler dissolver. There is an enzyme called hyaluronidase that is a reversal agent for hyaluronic acid-based fillers, and this works to break them down quickly and effectively.

Then there are situations in which a “permanent” filler can be dissolved, but there’s a catch. For example, sometimes Kenalog (a steroid) is used to dissolve filler, but it creates tissue or skin atrophy which can only be corrected with constant fillers and/or fat transfer to fill the gap.

However, sometimes filler cannot be reversed with any type of dissolvent, and more aggressive measures must be taken—such as excision with a scalpel. This is the case with many patients.

FAQ

How common are problems that come from filler?

How common is it for patients to change their mind about filler?

How common are problems that come from filler?

Unfortunately, problems can be very common—but usually only when fillers are administered by someone who doesn’t know what they’re doing. When administered by highly qualified medical professionals such as a board-certified plastic surgeon, a properly trained registered nurse, or a licensed physician’s assistant, cosmetic injectables tend to look wonderful. This is why it’s of the utmost importance to choose a qualified, licensed, experienced medical professional to provide your cosmetic injections.

How common is it for patients to change their mind about filler?

Even when cosmetic injectables look great, patients sometimes change their mind about the treatment and would prefer for the filler to be removed. This is common, but just as common are those who are life-long devotees of injectables. It simply comes down to personal preference.
